Sa petite chérie
Colombe Schneck

He called her his little darling. They were barely fifteen. Were they friends? Good pals? Youngsters in love? Possibly all of these. We’ll never know.
They spent hours together, doing their homework. She was invited often at Jean’s house; he seemed so much nicer than the other boys - and at that age, nothing serious can ever happen. Once only, during a school trip, Jean asked his ‘little darling’ if she would like to be his girlfriend. She kept her headphones on and merely shook “no” with her head – a movement she regretted all her life. She grew up. She loved. Was loved. But she never forgot Jean. Of course she meets him again, and at last, they allow themselves to be in love with each other. But can this relationship be successful?
Colombe Schneck leaves the territories of family history that she explored in her absorbing first novel, L’Increvable Monsieur Schneck, to explore anew the ever-lasting theme of ‘first love, last love’, offering us a gentle version of When Harry met Sally set in contemporary times.

Colombe Schneck was born in Paris in 1966. A Journalist at i TÉLÉ and France Inter, she presents daily programs investigating the media. She published a successful first novel, L’Increvable Monsieur Schneck, in 2006.
