PSYCHANALYSE VIA QUOTIDIENNE
“My book’s title, Psychoanalysis, A Daily Life, reflects its contents, which allows us to witness day-to-day psychoanalysis through the course of different analysts’ sessions. Reporting on these sessions is always a challenge because they tolerate no third parties, exclude all observers and are only truly accessible to those involved. Hence my decision not so much to describe as to reveal: a word, a sentence, a brief exchange… in the hopes that, by capturing the immediacy of a session, I can afford glimpses of psychoanalysis in all its strangeness, and by extension all the strangeness of the subconscious, the most personal, unknowable and unacceptable depths of every individual’s psychological existence.”

The invaluable words of a renowned psychoanalyst on the current state of his science and its practice, in a book that homes right in on the living, human experience of analysis, a far cry from complex theory which is often inaccessible to the uninitiated.
